“Trooping the Colour” for the Queen’s Official Birthday was carried out on the 8th June 2019, at Horse Guards Parade, London, England. This yearly pageantry is where the Queen leaves Buckingham Palace and proceeds down the Mall to Horse Guards Parade to inspect the Army and take the salute. The Queen returns to Buckingham Palace for a flypast by the Royal Air Force.
Like everybody else in the crowd I came to the see the event and to capture good pictures. The weather was lovely and I had time to compose each shot because I could see when the parade was coming and leaving. This meant that I could plan ahead for each shot. For the presentation of these images I decided not to crop any images. Below are the images of the first part of the parade from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade.
At Horse Guards Parade here are the images that I captured.
From Horse Guards Parade I proceeded back to Buckingham Palace for the remaining images.
With time to spare I composed two HDR landscape images and captured images of people feeding the birds and the police force.
Cropping plays an important part in the presentation of images. There are quite a lot of unnecessary details that have been left in the pictures that have been shown.
