On Monday, 29th August 2022 I attended the final day of the Notting Hill Carnival, London, England. With the attendance of over a million people this is the largest carnival in Europe. The carnival had been absent for two years due to the COVID19 pandemic. Look up Notting Hill carnival in your search engine to get more information about this carnival which has Caribbean roots.
I did not want to stick out in the crowd so I wore dark colours and my camera had a lens which had a range of 10 mm to 18 mm. The lens allowed me to be right close up to the people that I was capturing. This was necessary because there was no room for standing back due to the crowd that was present. It was a cloudy day but the sun made an appearance and this will be seen in some of the images due to the strong shadows.
At the entrance to Notting Hill the Church Kensington Temple had the team Tough Talk presenting to people who attended the carnival. Tough Talk presents the Gospel to people who do not attend a church. Kensington Temple was also presenting lovely food. Kensington Temple is a blessed location for the start of the carnival.
I arrived at Notting Hill carnival before noon and there was a crowd present. It is time to present the images. With a 64 Gb SD card and a spare battery I moved through the crowd of people capturing images which are presented below and in the second posting Notting Hill.
It is not the end. More images of Notting Hill carnival are in another posting Notting Hill.
