Mount of Temptation, Judean Desert
This is a synopsis of my visit to the Holy Land in the Twentieth Century.

The Holy Land, Israel

Basilica of the Annunciation, Northern Israel (The Church of the Annunciation).
This Church has been built over the house of the Virgin Mary. The Angel of the Lord, Gabriel appeared to Mary and announced that she would bring forth the Son of God, Jesus.
30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.
Luke 1:30-31,

Mount of Temptation, Judean Desert
After Jesus was baptised He went into the wilderness and was tempted by the devil 40 days and night. Contemporary Christianity celebrates this as Lent.
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ “
Matthew 4:8-10

Golgotha or Calvary, Jerusalem
This is where Jesus was crucified.

The painting above plays out the crucifixion. Captured at one of the many churches I visited in the Holy Land.
The Garden Tomb, Jerusalem
This is the tomb where they laid Jesus body to rest.
20 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.
John 20:1
The Bible, New International Version

14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:14-16

I visited the Holy Land. I captured the images. I spread the Word and the images.
