Capturing A Bride from Asia
Back in February 2018 I attended the Asiana Bridal Show at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair, London. This gave me the opportunity to capture images of Asian fashion at its best. Back in 2017 I visited Alexandra Palace, London for the Asiana Bridal Show 2017. Both of these events had amazing virtual backgrounds and the lighting was extremely good to allow excellent details in the captured images.
The question is why am I covering this event several months later? For winter, which has now ended, London experienced a lot of snow which is a rare event. The time was spent capturing images of the snow and the activities related to it. The weather and nature was given priority for my web site. In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. The animals and human beings came afterwards. I have saved the best until last! Let’s get back to the Bridal Show.
I was hired to take pictures at my first Asian wedding in 2008. This was spread over three days at four different venues. Weddings are large events and everybody is dressed to impressed. For weddings of different cultures it is a good idea to keep up to date with what is going on. Bridal shows are one avenue for getting the latest news.
Alexandra Palace was a large spacious venue. Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair was an exquisite venue.
The catwalk show was held in a different room. The lights in the room were switched off before the catwalk show started. Whilst waiting for the show to start images were captured of nothing important and the settings on the camera adjusted for the changes in light. A flash was not needed for this event.
The raised stage for the photographers was fully occupied so all pictures had to be captured at ground level. This meant that only 95% of the image was captured with the feet missing for everybody. The images of the heads and mobile phones did not spoil the picture. The virtual background changed for each exhibitor and did not affect the quality of the captured image. The remaining images show that the details on each outfit are sharp. The stage lighting can be easily adjusted to the correct balance on the computer if the colours look off. The images below are high lights of the catwalk show.
