While I was looking through my autumn images I realised that 2021 was the start of another decade and that I have not travelled outside of London since lockdown started back in March 2020. The closing decade of 2020 was the start of COVID and 2021 was the continuation.

My first trip outside London was in September 2021 for the Photography & Video Show at the NEC and I ventured into Birmingham after the event. It was good to see another Town.

London did keep me busy for the autumn and with the change in weather there were more images to capture. My sunflowers eventually rose to a height to make the car park garden look good again. The challenges of snails and the ground maintenance weed killer delayed their growth. I eventually planted a lot of sunflower seeds into the ground and hoped for the best. The image above shows the result of my September sunflowers.

For 22nd September as the sun was setting I noticed that the sky was clear of clouds. This was an opportunity to venture into London to capture the full moon with a significant landmark and the activities going on.

For the above images the sky was clear so I was able to capture the moon from different angles. Photo editing software was used on the computer to balance the image of the city lights with the light from the moon.

I captured images of the moon and people enjoying the night for that September and as you can see the moon against a significant land mark, Tower Bridge.

I did go home. This is the image of the moon setting from my living room window at 7:05 a.m.

For October the sun was still shining bright. Caution! Do not look directly at the sun with your camera. Use a camera which has an electronic view screen. The above image shows that my sunflowers were holding on. A squirrel ate the seeds or decapitated the whole head and carried it off.

November started with lovely frosty mornings. It was very refreshing.

November emphasised the lovely colours of autumn and the trees eventually lost their leaves.

The above images of December look quite familiar.
With all the restrictions going on due to COVID what is the new normal?
